First and foremost I want to say thank you to each and every person who has taken time out of their day to visit this blog. I never expected when I wrote my first post back in 2008 that I would have people from all around the world reading my words. I truly am in awe from this and no words seem fitting to express my thanks to all of you.
Alright, so I suppose you came to this page because you want to know a little bit more about me? Well, I consider myself to be an average person. I deal with the same daily struggles that millions of people around the world deal with every day. I am fortunate to be married to my best friend who shares many of the same interests as I do. Together we have a bright child who is so full of energy that he wears me out just listening to him. I consider myself truly blessed to have such an awesome family and love spending time with them.
I believe you can tell the type of person someone is by those they choose to associate with. For me, I count myself blessed to have many wonderful friends from all areas of life. I do not think that they truly know how precious they are to me and how much I have leaned on them throughout the years. Without you guys I honestly do not know where I would be. You all are awesome!
I love to spend my free time playing games (obviously!). When not playing video games, you can typically find me watching sports. I am an avid college basketball fan and my Kentucky Wildcats just won their eighth national championship! (This may be outdated by the time you read this.)
I started playing World of Warcraft towards the end of 2006. Ruhtra actually was born as a Dwarf due to an unfortunate misunderstanding of which faction some guys from my work played on. I played my Dwarf until the Burning Crusade expansion came out. At that point, I deleted the poor Dwarf and Ruhtra was reborn as a Blood Elf Paladin. He considers his past life to be a bad dream.
I have only been in two guilds during the course of my playing WoW. The first guild I was a part of was called the Outcasts. My only true attachment to that guild was my friends from work. Towards the end of that guild's run, we decided to create M.A.S. as a place to park our alts. Thus the Mass Affluent Slayers were born. I became the guild leader simply because I created the charter first. Originally there were nine of us from work and one guy I met while leveling Ruhtra. I often refer to the nine of us as the originals. Sadly there are only two of us actively playing now.
Over the years, the guild grew from the originals to include members from all over the United States, Canada, and even a few Australians. The roster is ever changing and constantly challenging me, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
I started writing Holy Shock back in 2008 after my friend, Fish, got me hooked on blogging. When I first started blogging, I had no clue on what I wanted to do with the blog or even for how long I would be blogging. The one thing I have learned after three and a half years of blogging is that I love sharing my thoughts with all of you and I look forward to continuing to grow with you.
