Welcome to a Wednesday edition of Mondays Mean Minecraft! In my effort to create a more sustainable food source, I have decided that I would take my garden in doors! This actually became a much bigger project than I had originally intended.
I had originally just been digging a long line in order to grab some cobblestone. As I began thinking about the issue of my wheat being outside, I decided it would make much more since to have it in doors, where I could harvest it at night. I try to move as much as I can either in doors or into safe locations where I can do those daily tasks when it might not be the safest to be out and about.
So I dug out the line to be even with the basement of my house and then had to dig down three levels so that I could surround the area with cobblestone. I use cobblestone as a foundation, that way as I do expansions around areas I have been building, I know not to plow through something. Then above the cobblestone is a layer of water to make the rich soil for the wheat to grow in! Now all I have to do is make sure that this is enough light. If not, then I will run lights down from the ceiling, but hoping I don't have to put in that much work. Time will tell in this case!
As you may (or may not) know, I have recently jumped back into the World of Warcraft! So far I have been controlling my addiction to the game by limiting how long I am allowing myself to play. Alright, I am really more limited by the fact that I have far too much going on outside of the game world, but Blizzcon got me completely excited for the next expansion! Anyway, I have been trying to do one level per day.
So last night, while Emprius was torching his way across the frozen wastelands of Draenor, he was asked by Khadgar to take a peak in on good old Gul'dan. Needless to say, Emprius was quite displeased that there was a Warlock convention going on and he was not invited. As you can imagine (or may know from doing the quest yourself), things do not end well for one of these individuals.
I am currently sitting at level 95 and have been really enjoying my time back in the game. While I am missing the old days of running with the crew, it has been a refreshing experience doing a solo grind. I even hit up a random dungeon with a strange group of Forsaken, and minus a few singe marks to the others, things went splendidly. I even managed to pick up a present for Lunk!
Good Monday... er Tuesday morning! Don't worry, I know it's not Monday, but I spent an hour or so working in my world last night and I felt it only fair to do a little update post. Now I know it is not a whole lot to look at currently, but just you wait and see. I guarantee that in a month or so from now, it will have either been burned to the ground in a freak accident involving lava, or it will have grown into something way bigger than it currently is.
Right now though, I am just trying to survive. I got dumped in a hill biome and spent most of my time running around the hillside hunting food. So far I have killed a few rabbits and found some pigs. Off to the right of the screenshot is a little pond where I have planted some seeds and am hoping to grow some wheat in order to allow me to actually live! Yay for living!
It's been far too long since we had a new adventure in Minecraft! So today marks the creation of a new world for Monday Mean Minecraft! Every time I have sat down to play Minecraft, I always think to myself, I should have taken some screenshots of what the world looked like before I begin changing it all around. So here is that series, with those screenshots I have always wanted to do. I know I should probably have some sort of goal for the series and all of that other stuff, but honestly, I just like to get in and do whatever strikes my fancy. So make sure and check back every Monday to see the progress that has been made each day!
