Welcome back to a bit of Holy Shock history!
This post marks the beginning of a series I started over a decade ago, lovingly titled The Noob Seeker. In this series, I dive headfirst into a class I admittedly wasn’t great at—the Warrior—and begin a questing journey that’s equal parts ridiculous, insightful, and (hopefully) entertaining.
Episode 1 kicks things off with a brand-new Troll Warrior created on the PvP realm Kil’Jaeden, where danger from Alliance gank squads was always lurking. I chose this server specifically to spice things up and add some tension to the adventure. If you were an Alliance player on that server back then… you might have camped me. No hard feelings. 😅
What to Expect in This Episode:
- A chaotic but enthusiastic introduction to the Noob Seeker concept
- The creation of my warrior and the first quest: Rise of the Darkspear
- Me wrestling with UI clutter, refusing helpful guild invites, and embracing solo play
- A healthy dose of nostalgia as I dig into WoW's revamped troll starting zone
- A painfully honest confession: I hate questing — but I’m doing it anyway
- Mailbox madness as I unleash a horde of pets and mounts I’ve collected over the years
The idea behind The Noob Seeker was never to be the most efficient, fastest, or most optimized. It was meant to be fun, casual, and a chance to explore WoW from a fresh perspective—one quest at a time.
This episode might not be flashy, but it sets the tone for something I always wanted Holy Shock to represent: relatable gaming content that makes you laugh, think, and remember why you fell in love with games in the first place.
