It’s been quite the ride, and I am back, ready for the next chapter in this journey! For those of you who’ve followed along, you know that Holy Shock has gone through quite a few different iterations over the years. What started as a blog about World of Warcraft and my experiences as a Holy Paladin has grown in ways I never imagined, becoming something far beyond my wildest dreams.
The Early Days – The World of Warcraft Era
When I first started Holy Shock, it was all about my adventures in World of Warcraft. I was new to blogging, new to the game, and struggling with the sudden loss of my father. I found comfort in connecting with others who shared my passion for the game, using the blog as a way to cope with the personal challenges I was facing. Back then, the blog was just a place for me to vent about the highs and lows of the game, my life as a Holy Paladin, and the misadventures of my guild—while also sorting out my own life. I had no idea that this would eventually evolve into something more than just a small, personal blog.
The Evolution – From Blogs to Videos
As time went on, so many things in my life began to change. I went from being a member of a tight-knit group of friends to leading a guild that became known for both our raiding and PvP adventures. As the guild grew, the atmosphere shifted from a ragtag band of friends to a more diverse group of individuals. Just as the guild was evolving, so too was my personal life. I experienced loss, relationships ending, career changes, and so much more.
During this time, I moved from writing blog posts to creating YouTube videos, diving into content that explored World of Warcraft, Minecraft, Hearthstone, and many other games! YouTube was a whole new challenge—I had zero skills with editing software—but I love tackling new challenges, and it felt like the right time to push myself creatively. Things were shifting in a positive direction, but as life often does, it still had some surprises, both good and bad, in store.
Building an eBay Business
As time passed, life continued to change rapidly, and there were times when I felt like I could barely hold everything together. I struggled to create content for the blog and YouTube. To be honest, I was struggling with my mental health and so much more. It was during this time that I decided to pull back from the public eye and focus on something different—experimenting with eBay.
I began thinking about my childhood dream of owning a gaming store and wondered if there was a way to combine my love for trading cards, comics, and collectibles. That’s when I dove into building an eBay business. It felt like a natural progression, but it wasn’t without its own challenges. Balancing work and life, while also building a business, was a struggle. Along the way, I learned so much about researching items, finding resources, and determining what to list versus what not to list.
Life Doesn’t Always Go According to Plan
As we all know, life doesn’t always follow the script we envision. There have been highs and lows, and along the way, each step taught me something new. Whether it was about myself, my career, the world of social media, or building something from the ground up—every experience has been part of the journey that has led me to where I am today.
2025 – A New Beginning
And here I am in 2025, looking ahead once more. I’ve spent a lot of time researching and planning how to bring all of these experiences together—gaming, YouTube, eBay, my career, the successes and failures in my personal life… all of it, the essence of who I am as a person. The focus now? Sharing my life—everything from my personal passions to my business ventures, my thoughts on gaming, anime, movies, trading cards, collectibles, and the lessons I’ve learned along the way.
So once again, I invite you to come in and take a look around. This time, it’s not a new experience for me, but the culmination of everything I’ve learned over the years. I welcome you to the next chapter of Holy Shock. It’s going to be a journey like no other, and I can’t wait to share it with all of you.
